Welcome

Me

Welcome to my little space on the web. I'm Matthew Zagursky, a first-year graduate student at the Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawaii. My undergraduate work was completed at the University of Maryland, College Park double majoring in Physical Sciences (concentrating in Astronomy, Meteorology, and Math) and Physics.

My main area of research interest is in the galaxies, the large-scale structure of the universe and cosmology. Galaxy masses, dark matter, dark energy, galactic evolution, CMB, alternative theories and different methods of thinking in research are just a few topics that intrigue me greatly. I currently perform research with Dr. Stacy McGaugh (one of the greatest teachers/mentors I've ever had the opportunity to work with) on mass modeling MSB and HSB galaxies.
